It doesn't get any better than an avatar of giving and love, a jolly old soul who cherishes children and encourages goodness. Hey, maybe he was just invented as a marketing gimmick by the soft drink and greeting card industries. Or maybe he really hangs out at the North Pole, making his infamous list. Whether the truth lies at either extreme or somewhere in between, I tend to follow the wisdom of a second-grader I overheard years ago debating the big man's reality with his friends: "If Santa ain't real, he should be." Amen, little man. Amen.
